This morning I preached briefly on Mark 16:1-8, when the women discover Jesus' tomb is empty and initially fail the angel's command to be witnesses about this event. How often we fail when God commands us to do something. I do this daily, sometimes bigger failures than others. I've worn this ring almost daily for the past two years since I purchased it in Israel at the City of David. And whenever I look at it, I'm constantly reminded that Israel is where I'm called. I finally said yes to the call and am overcoming my fear, just like the women at the tomb. Another cool realization was how the past two years I've been a witness on Easter in some way - last year on a mission trip in Nicaragua, and this year preaching. Next year, I hope to be doing the same in Israel. Ladies, how many of us often feel either TOO MUCH or NOT ENOUGH? 🙋🏼 I often feel like I'm too much for people. I'm confident in who I am, and I know God has gifted me with multiple talents. But sometimes I think my confidence comes off as pride or intimidation when I don't mean it to be. Can anyone relate? I recently watched a video where Melissa Helser from Bethel Music said "I know I exude confidence because I know who I am in the Lord" and it reminded me that it's OKAY and even GREAT to be confident in who we are when we remember that God is the one who made us confident. It's not prideful or intimidating when we embrace who God made us to be. It gives others the freedom to be confident as well. Ladies, you are NOT too much. You are enough.
